Hello, everyone, Today Sean, from Auckland Council came to our school  and taught us about how we can reuse our plastic wrap waste that goes into landfill.

I learned that it take a female bee almost there whole like to make a 1 cm cube of wax.

I really enjoyed it because we got to make our own beeswax wraps

Have you ever made beeswax wraps?

Amorangi and Millie’s Trip Through Time – Ponder 8

If I could create my own animal by mixing together  3 animals I mix a dog,  deer and a bat together. Its name would be Clover.

Its abilities would be to run really fast and to be very sneaky.

what animals would you mix together? and what power or gifted would it have?

This is the drawing that I made.

Firework Science Experiments

Kia Ora bloggers, This week the Pod has been doing science. We have been about fireworks and chemical reactions. We did 3 experiments, I well be talking about experiment 3.

We has a candle and different chemicals, when we put potassium chloride  the flame turned orange, when we put copper sulphate it turned bluey green, when we did strontium chloride it turned red but calcium chloride the flame also turned red. When we put them all together all the colours including purple.

It did this because the different chemicals create different chemical reactions when connected with heat, fuel and gas ( oxygen ).

have you done something like this before?

Gold Panning at the South Island

Kia ora bloggers! The last two weeks my family visited the south Island to go skiing for my mum and brothers birthday.

On one of the last days we went gold panning by the river, the sand was shimming so it was hard to tell if it was gold or not.

How you do it.

first you use a spade to get some sand and rocks from the edge of the river. Your pan has some ripply on it, you need to make shore they are facing away from you.

Then you shake it making the big stones and water come out and if gold is in there it well go to the bottom.
